highly motivated Senior Executive with an extensive background in quality

and leadership gained from over 15 years of employment history within various
industries.
Dominik is recognised for his strategic mindset and a combination of focused analytical skills, leadership capabilities, and interpersonal strengths. He has a deep background in project management, financial and business management, corporate structures, commercial and corporate governance, business and staff development, financial and budget planning, stakeholder engagement. We look forward to working with Dominik and the direction he will be taking South East Brisbane Chamber of Commerce.
We would like to say a big thank you to all our members for
their work over the year. In particular, I’d like to acknowledge the committee
member of the Chamber.
In this financial year we will be focusing on:
Vision & Mission
- South East Brisbane Chamber of Commerce influences
Brisbane’s future through promoting, encouraging and supporting local businesses
thereby making a positive impact to Australia’s economy. –
Strategy
• Work with local community, investors, government, and lending facilities to encourage local businesses to reach their full potential.
• Encourage, support and communicate the importance of small businesses in the community through media and advertising.
• Partnering local businesses with large corporations to encourage fairness.
• Encourage
large corporations to subcontract to smaller businesses in the community.
Last Tuesday we had a thrilling time with our guest speaker, Taj Pabari, CEO of Australian School of Entrepreneurship. During the Breakfast, Taj shared the experience of exploring his interests, setting up his business, and becoming a young entrepreneur.
This month is the last month of my presidency. In the past two years, I have witnessed the growth of SEBCC and changes we have brought to our community. It was my great honour contributing to our Chamber. The next President will be Dominik Hartl-McWilliam, CEO of McWilliam & CO Management & Business Advisory. I believe Dominik will bring his expertise in modern business to help the Chamber to be greater. SEBCC, the South East Brisbane Chamber of Commerce, which is also Strong, Effective, Brilliant, Constructive, and Cooperative, will continue to dedicate ourselves to connect our local businesses and contribute to a better community.
Special Thanks to Des Bowler who’s worked tirelessly for the Chamber for many years and likewise Shane Cowan - both of whom have helped me immensely over this period. I have so much gratitude for commitment of our committee members, Phil Searle, Craig McCallum, Anastasia Xie and Terri Smallbon.
I’m excited to see the direction and energy incoming President Dominik and emcee Craig McCallum will bring to this great community of business leaders.
Wishing you all good luck in business.
Rebecca
Welcome to autumn everyone! It was a terrific turnout for Breakfast
at Sunrise with our guest speaker Tom Freer from Wyntec. Tom spoke about the
importance of human’s roles in cyber security. Comparing with the past decades,
we receive a larger number of spam emails everyday. Some of them sneakily
target at data stored in our computers, and some others are staring at the
money in our accounts. These spam emails may come from a friend, supplier,
client that you think you are familiar with, however dangers are just hiding
behind the familiar things. During Tom’s speech, he gave us many effective ways
to recognize these “bad guys” and protect your assets from becoming a target.
Our Business of the Month was Allan Hanson from Arcinvest. Though
the years Allan has been consistently working on developing a reliable
investment philosophy. He has come across many different types of investing and
has kept an open mind about them all, as he researched and studied them. After
all these years Allan has found the most reliable, consistent, and best
returning method for long term investment is Value Investing. This method is
based on buying good, solid, reliable business with a good income stream, a
durable competitive advantage and good management for a reasonable price with a
margin of safety, and holding onto them.
If you would like to showcase your business as a Business of
the Month please contact me.
Have a great month in business!
